• Download prnwatch.exe


• Log into Windows 2000 / XP / 2003 Server / Vista / 2008 Server/ Windows 7 installed on the computer with connected printers as an administrator.


• Close all running programs.


• Run prnwatch.exe and follow the instructions on the screen.

The program consists of three components:

1. O&K Print Watch Service is installed on the print server, processes all print events, saves them to the database and controls the print server. You should install O&K Print Watch Service on every print server on your network that you want to control.


2. Control program is a user interface for viewing statistics and controlling the print server. In order to view statistics and control the print server, you need to install Control Program on any network computer and connect to the print server where O&K Print Watch Service is installed.


3. MS SQL Server 2005 Express is a database server. This component is necessary to store print statistics. You can use any existing MS SQL Server or Oracle on your network. You do not need to install this component in this case.

If you install MS SQL Server 2005 Express, the database will be automatically created and configured. The program will generate the SQL Server administrator password during the installation. Save this password somewhere for future use.

If you want to use an external SQL Server existing on your network or if you already have installed O&K Print Watch Service, clear the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express component checkbox. There are two installation variants in this case:

1. I already have installed O&K Print Watch Service in my network. This installation variant means that you will use one database for all O&K Print Watch Service instances in your network. You need to specify the name of the print server where O&K Print Watch Service is installed and running. The installation program will connect to it and retrieve the settings of the existing database.

2. MS SQL Server. SQL Server already existing in your network should be used as a database server in this case. You will have to specify the server name, the SQL Server administrator name (for example, sa) and his password. SQL authentication is used for connecting to an existing SQL Server.

The installation program will create both a database on the specified server and the user O&K Print Watch will work with this database under.

The SQL administrator password is necessary only when the database is being created. It is neither saved not used anywhere later.

Remove

• Select Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.


• Select O&K Print Watch in the list of installed programs and click Add/Remove. Follow the instructions on the screen.
